Mountain biking

Mountain bikers value the trail network surrounding the small mountain village of Fendels for its variety of short and long bike tours. The extensively planned and wide assortments of forest trails offer a tour for every level of experience and limitation. 

Tip: a really popular route is the tour of Fendels in the Kaunertal Valley, and the return trip.

It is possible to take the cable car from Ried, the cable car up to Fendels, or climb from the valley up to Fendels.  Once there in Fendels, there begins a forest trail with a slight downhill grade over the former hermitage, "Wiesele" and go past the ruins of the former church that once stood. 

The trail leads you to by the hamlet called Vergötschen and back again to the main street in Kaunertal. From there you can take the bus down into the valley, or simply let your bike roll downhill from Kaunertal.

Registration for the mountain bike tours

The tourism office books numerous tours in cooperation with H2O Adventure in the Kaunertal Glacier Region.

The slogan is: "you don’t have to be a real "bike freak" if you want to go on an H2O Biking Adventure. We offer tours for both the beginners, who are more interested in enjoying nature than physical exertion, as well as the bike pros, who are after the sporting challenge."
